Ludhiana, June 7
As only single bid was received for water and sewerage projects under the Smart City mission, Ludhiana Smart City Limited (LSCL) has floated tenders once again to invite fresh bids.
The tenders have been floated for the second time for projects, including water distribution network and 24x7 domestic water supply project at an estimate cost of Rs46.50 crore, sewerage disposal system at an estimated cost of Rs39.29 crore and storm water drainage network at a cost of Rs22.59 crore in area-based development (ABD) of Ludhiana under the Smart City mission.
The last date for the submission of online bids is June 18, while technical bids would be opened on June 20. The date to open financial bids would be announced later.
A pre-bid meeting would be held on June 8. Chief Executive Officer of Ludhiana Smart City Limited-cum-MC Commissioner Jaskiran Singh said tenders has been floated for the second time. Earlier, only single bid was received during previous tendering process, he said.
Notably, the tenders for retrofitting and improvement works for Sarabha Nagar Market and Development of Malhar Road as smart street in ABD (area-based development) under the Ludhiana Smart City mission have also been floated again, as previous tendering process had remained unsuccessful. The last date for the submission of tenders for these projects is June 12. The technical bids would be opened on June 15.
Ludhiana was selected among the first 20 cities to be developed as smart cities on January 2016. However, many projects under the Smart City mission are getting delayed.
