Theatrics at play on second day

DORAHA: On the second day of the Panjab University Youth and Heritage Festival Zone-A, theatrical items such as drama and histrionics were the main attraction on the main stage of Dr Ishwar Singh Memorial Hall of Guru Nanak National College, Doraha, while music items such as percussion and non-percussion were performed on the open stage side by side.

On the second day of the Panjab University Youth and Heritage Festival Zone-A, theatrical items such as drama and histrionics were the main attraction on the main stage of Dr Ishwar Singh Memorial Hall of Guru Nanak National College, Doraha, while music items such as percussion and non-percussion were performed on the open stage side by side.

The chief guest for the morning session SP (Headquarters) Khanna, Balvinder Singh Bhikhi, exhorted the youth to be up and doing rather than waiting for an opportunity to strike at their doorstep. The chief guest for the evening session was former minister Ishar Singh Mehrabaan, who asked students to make the best use of their time lest they should have to repent afterwards. Guest of honour DSP (Special Branch) Sarabjit Kaur Bajwa, too, exhorted students to realise their potential to the best and be charged enough to handle every responsibility.

Classical music vocal

Dean, cultural activities Prof Gursharan Kaur said in classical music vocal the team of Malwa College, Bondli, was declared first, while Guru Nanak National College, Doraha, came second. The third place went to SCD Governemnt College, Ludhiana and Gobindgarh Public College, Alour.

Geet ghazal

In Geet Ghazal, Gurkirat Kaur of Guru Nanak National College, Doraha, secured the first position, while Tanveer Singh Sandhu of Arya College, Ludhiana, was placed second. The third place was given to Ravinder Singh of Malwa College, Bondli, and Savneet Singh of Sri Aurobindo College, Ludhiana.

Light music folk song competition

In Light Music Folk Song Competition, Arya College, Ludhiana, came first, while SCD Government College, Ludhiana and Guru Nanak National College, Doraha, and AS College, Khanna bagged the second and third positions, respectively.

Heritage items

In the heritage items, Prabhjot Kaur of Arya College, Ludhiana, came first in Guddiyan Patole making contest. Manpreet Kaur of SCD Government College, Ludhiana, came second and Jagdeep Kaur of AS College, Khanna, third.

Pranda making

Similarly in pranda making, Simranjeet Kaur of Guru Nanak National College, Doraha, came first, while Sonia of Arya College, Ludhaina, and Renu Bala of GPC, Alour, Khanna, came second and third, respectively.

Chhikoo making

In chhikoo making Mandeep Kaur of Arya College, Ludhiana, was declared first, while Mohd Aasif of Sri Atam Vallabh Jain College, Ludhiana, and Amrinder Kaur of Malwa College, Bondli, came second and third, respectively.

Naala making

In naala making, Paramjot Kaur of AS College, Khanna, came first. Harmanpreet Kaur of Arya College, Ludhaina and Arshdeep Kaur of SCD Government College, Ludhiana, came second and third, respectively.

Tokri making

Harpreet Singh of SCD Government College, Ludhiana, came first in tokri making, while Manjot Singh of Guru Nanak National College, Doraha, came second and Gourav Dhian of Sri Atam Vallabh Jain College, Ludhiana, third.

Mitti de khidaune

In mitti de khidaune, Dalip Kumar Dubey of SCD Government College, Ludhiana, came first, while Renu Verma of Arya College, Ludhiana, came second. The third position was secured by Deepak Parsad of AS College, Khanna, and Karamjeet Kaur Malwa College, Bondli.

Khiddo making

In khiddo making, Jasvir Kaur of Arya College, Ludhiana, came first, while Kiran Kaur of Guru Nanak National College, Doraha, and Shri Atam Vallabh Jain College, Ludhiana, came second and third, respectively.

Peerhi making

Sukhdeep Kaur of Guru Nanak National College, Doraha, was placed first in peerhi making, while the second place was secured by Jagdeep Kaur of AS College, Khanna. Sikander Singh of SCD Government College, Ludhiana, and Lovepreet Singh of Government College, Karamsar, Rara Sahib, came third.

Rassa vatna

In rassa vatna, Gurmeet Singh of Guru Nanak National College, Doraha, came first, while Deepti of Arya College, Ludhiana, came second. The third position was secured by Harpreet Singh of BSSG Government College, Sidhsar.

Eennu making

In eennu making, Archna of Shri Atam Vallabh Jain College, Ludhiana, came first, while Tejas of SCD Government College, Ludhiana, and Palak of Arya College, Ludhiana, came second and third, respectively.

Poem writing

In poem writing, Sherril Arora of Sri Aurobindo College, Ludhiana, came first, while Harvir Singh of AS College, Khanna, came second. The third place was given to Jessica Singh of SCD Government College, Ludhiana.

Short-story writing

In short-story writing, Harsirat Kaur of SCD Government College, Ludhiana, came first, while Jasneet Kaur of AS College, Khanna, and Simple Gandotra of Sri Aurobindo College, Ludhiana came second and third, respectively.

Essay writing

In essay writing, Wahegurupal Singh of Guru Nanak National College, Doraha, came first, while Babita of SCD Government College, Ludhiana, came second and Vindhya Sood of Sri Aurobindo College, Ludhiana, came third.
