Trials on July 17, 18 for college sports wings

LUDHIANA: The selection trials to induct players (boys and girls) in sport wings at colleges affiliated with the Panjab University will be conducted by the Punjab Sports Department here on July 17 and 18.

The selection trials to induct players (boys and girls) in sport wings at colleges affiliated with the Panjab University will be conducted by the Punjab Sports Department here on July 17 and 18.

Trials for boys will be held on July 17 and for girls on July 18. According to Kartar Singh Sehmbey, District Sports Officer (DSO), Ludhiana, trials will be held in 18 disciplines at different venues. Trials athletics, basketball, badminton, boxing, football, gymnastics, judo, kabaddi, table tennis, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling and lawn tennis will be held at Guru Nanak Stadium, while in cycling, hockey and handball, these will be organised at the Punjab Agricultural University.

Trials in swimming and kho-kho will be held at the Municipal Corporation Pool, Rakh Bagh, and Shaheed-e-Azam Sukhdev Thapar Government Senior Secondary School, Bharat Nagar Chowk.

Registration for the trials will start at 8 am at Guru Nanak Stadium. The interested players are advised to bring their birth certificates in original, along with sports achievement certificates and its attested copies and two latest passport-size photographs.
