Ludhiana, July 13

The Government Railway Police (GRP) nabbed two drug smugglers and recovered 5.2 kg opium from their possession.

The arrested have been identified as Yogeshar and Aditya, both residents of Jharkhand. ASI Ram Krishan said the duo was stopped during a routine checking near the railway station. During search of their belongings the police recovered 5.2 kg of narcotics.

The police said the accused had been in the notorious profession from a long time. After buying consignment of opium from Jharkhand, they had been supplying it in Ludhiana, added officials. The police said remand of the accused would be sought from the court to bust their supply line.
