The court has directed the police to give two days' notice, in case any FIR was registered against him or he was required to be arrested. The order shall remain operative till the end of MC elections scheduled for February 24. SAD leader Balwinder Singh has accused area MLA for pressurising the police to lodge an FIR against him. It was alleged that sensing the popularity of his wife Jasmeet Kaur, the ruling party leaders wanted to implicate him in a false case. The opponent candidate Jewan Asha Sharma's husband was District Congress Committee vice-president. They were hatching a conspiracy to put him behind bars to demoralise SAD-BJP candidate and their supporters. For this, they were using the influence of sitting Congress MLA to pressurise the police for implicating him in a false criminal case, claimed applicant in its bail plea. OC
