Ludhiana, April 21
Three women and their mail accomplice robbed an elderly woman of gold ornaments after throwing some liquid into her eyes, which rendered her unconscious, at Rishi Nagar on Saturday morning.
The PAU police reached the spot and started investigation. The police were checking CCTV cameras installed in the area to get some clue to the robbers.
The victim, Asha Rani (59), whose husband Neeraj Pal is an employee at the Ludhiana Improvement Trust, said on Saturday morning, her husband left home for some personal work. “Around 10.15 am, I decided to water plants. At 10.30 am, the moment I started watering the plants outside my house, a white-coloured car stopped outside my house. Three women and one man alighted from the car. One of the women inquired about some address where, she claimed, her relatives lived. Before she could tell them about the address, one of the car-borne persons threw some liquid into my face, following which I fell unconscious. When I regained consciousness, I found my gold bangles missing. The car-borne persons had escaped,” the woman added.
The PAU SHO, Brij Mohan, said the victim could not recall the registration number of the car. As per the details given by her, the car could be of Muktsar district. “We are checking the CCTV cameras installed in the area to get some clue,” the SHO added.
