World Heritage Day celebrated

Ludhiana: Ryan International School, Jamalpur, celebrated World Heritage Day. The students of standard VI to VIII presented cultural activities based on the development of culture in the morning assembly. Students presented the dance forms of different states such as Rajasthani, Kashmiri, giddha classical and bamboo dance. Principal Gurpal Kaur Anand said this day was celebrated for the conservation of our heritage so that the generation could comprehend its and pass it on to the next generation..

Students apprised of heritage

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, organised cultural games of Punjab on the occasion of World Heritage Day for the students of primary section. The day was also observed with an aim to create awareness among the students on the significance of cultural heritage sports. The programme witnessed an assortment of playful activities and games about cultural legacy which was finely blended with an assurance to preserve it. The main attractions of the day were games such as 'gilli danda', 'stapu' and 'pithu garam'.

Visit to Verka plant

The students from classes IX to XII of Ram Lal Bhasin Public School, Dugri, were taken to Verka Milk Plant on an educational visit for their better understanding of making, packing and filtration of milk. The students surveyed the whole process of purifying the milk and pouring it in the containers bottles or packets.

NCC cadets selected

New NCC cadets were selected for the year 2018-19 of Malwa Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Model Gram, Ludhiana, with the help of No4 PB AIR SQN NCC LUDHIANA. The NCC in-charge ANO S/officer made it clear that whereas the Indian Army guards the border of the country, the NCC comes next to discipline and sacrifice. He further explained that students taking NCC get encouragement in pursing armed service. Junior warrant officer AK Singh and Sergeant RR Singh tested the students' physical, mental and intelligence quotient.

Students win speech contest

Students of Class XII, Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Road, brought laurels to the school by winning the first and third positions in the inter-school speech competition, organised by FM Radio Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, on its campus. Muskan Dhiman won the first prize in English speech while Jasmine Kaur secured the third position in Punjabi.

Science activity organised

'Science is Fun' session was organised at Manav Rachna International School. A plethora of science experiments were conducted for young learners. Basic and safe ingredients from the kitchen and nature were used for these experiments.

English Language Fest held

The Pakhowal Road-based, DAV Public School, organised its annual English Language Fest. The event aimed to project the expressive and communication skills of the students through foreign languages especially English and French. Around 600 students participated to display their skills.— TNS
