10 arrested for clash

Ten persons were arrested following a clash between members of two communities who engaged in stone-throwing in the Gomtipur area of the city, the police said here on Sunday. A group had a scuffle with an autorickshaw driver of another community over an old rivalry, the police official said. PTI

Jawan attempts to rape minor 

An Army jawan, in an inebriated condition, allegedly attempted to rape a 14-year-old girl at the Trimulgherry area here, the police said on Sunday. On Saturday night, the jawan identified as Ashok tried to sexually harass the girl when she was returning home along with her sister from a medical shop, Inspector R S Raju said, quoting the complaint.
