Seventeen people, including three women, were killed when a jeep in which they were travelling collided head-on with a truck on the Rawatsar-Hanumangarh highway on Friday morning.
The overloaded jeep was on its way from Rawatsar when it collided with the truck under the Hanumangarh town area at 10 am, the police said.
The bodies were being removed and sent to the district hospital. The district civil and police officials reached the spot.

The seriously injured jeep driver was rushed to the district hospital where his condition is said to be critical, Additional SP Nirmala Vishnoi said.
The deceased belonged to a number of villages in Hanumangarh district, including Rawastsar, Naurangdesar, Bijra Ki Dhani, 16 MD and Matoria Ki Dhani, she said.
The collision was so severe that many bodies were crushed under the truck which overturned on the jeep, she said, adding that a crane was summoned.
Prima facie the accident occurred due to overtaking of vehicles, she said.
The truck driver has been arrested and the truck impounded. The bodies are being identified.
