MUZAFFARNAGAR: Four people were killed and three others were injured in an explosion in a scrap shop in Muzaffarnagar on Monday, police said.

Four people were killed and three others were injured in an explosion in a scrap shop in Muzaffarnagar on Monday, police said.

Muzaffarnagar Senior Superintendent of Police Anant Deo confirmed the deaths of scrap dealer Nisar and three others present at the scrap shop located on the Sarwat Road under the Civil Lines area police station.

The SSP said a passerby and two others injured in the blast and were rushed to the district hospital, where their condition was described to be stable.

An investigation is under way to identify the material that caused the explosion. “Experts from the bomb disposal squad are on the spot collecting evidence. The exact cause of blast and nature of explosives would be known only after the investigation,” said SSP Deo.
