AAP’s lokpal hints at internal squabbling

NEW DELHI: Amid reports that AAP frontline leader Yogendra Yadav could soon be out of the party’s top panels, party’s internal lokpal or ombudsman Admiral L Ramdass has raised serious concerns about the internal squabbling, breakdown in communication and mutual trust and worse — indication of two camps pointing to a deep rift within the AAP.

Amid reports that AAP frontline leader Yogendra Yadav could soon be out of the party’s top panels, party’s internal lokpal or ombudsman Admiral L Ramdass has raised serious concerns about the internal squabbling, breakdown in communication and mutual trust and worse — indication of two camps pointing to a deep rift within the AAP.

In an email communication, Admiral Ramdass said, “During the past six to eight months, there has been an abject breakdown in communication and mutual trust among the topmost leadership of the party. This has, in my view, led to the growth of two camps within the party and loose talk about conspiracies.

“This is unacceptable and shows that we are no different from any other party we criticise.” In view of the differences that surfaced between senior AAP members of the National Executive Committee and the Political Affairs Committee — the party’s top decision-making bodies — especially over the selection of candidates for the Delhi polls, Admiral Ramdass recommended that any criticism of internal democracy has to be dealt with by an independent group.
