New Delhi, September 1

For the first time after becoming the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will attend an RSS meeting beginning tomorrow. He will attend the coordination meeting of the RSS and its affiliates on its concluding day — September 4.

RSS chief spokesperson Manmohan Vaidya said 93 main functionaries of the Hindutva organisation and its 15 affiliates would “exchange notes” over relevant issues at the meeting. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat along with top brass from the political party and its ideological fountainhead will attend the meeting.

Issues such as Census figures, Patel agitation, one rank, one pension and the increasing tension between the RSS and Left cadres in Kerala are likely to be discussed at the meeting. However, it will not review the functioning of the Modi government.

“This meeting is not meant to review the government’s work or take a decision, nor will it be at the centre of our discussion,” Vaidya said.

Such coordination meeting are held twice a year but this one would be bigger with double the participation than usual, the RSS leader said. “This time the meeting is bigger. It is happening because lot many things are happening in our society and there will be wider inputs from everybody,” he said.
