Differences in the Yadav family today came to the fore again, with Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav hitting out at his son Akhilesh Yadav for showing disrespect towards him and uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav.

He endorsed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s electoral rhetoric about Akhilesh when he had asserted “how could a man who had insulted his father be loyal to the people of the state”.
