A Class VIII student allegedly killed an eight-year-old boy, chopped his body into pieces and “devoured” human flesh. The sheer savagery of the crime has left the police stunned.
But Police Commissioner Jatinder Singh Aulakh denied any such thing, saying the case needed to be probed further.

The accused, a native of Uttar Pradesh, residing at Sheikh Colony here, allegedly killed Deepu, his schoolmate, who went missing on Monday. Deepu’s body parts were found in a vacant plot on Tuesday night. The police said the teenager had admitted to have eaten uncooked meat at home.
About one-and-a-half months ago, he had made a call to the police control room, claiming his school management had held a student hostage who may be killed. When a police party reached there, they found that the call was a hoax.
They left after warning the teenager, who was also rebuked by the school staff.
The accused reportedly told the police that it was to avenge his insult at the hands of school officials that he had killed Deepu. Although the police had been claiming that Deepu had been kidnapped for ransom, the victim’s family told The Tribune that they had not received any ransom call
