The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans deployed on Maoist front for years together will now be posted to places of their choice, according to CRPF Director General K Durga Prasad.
The departmental officials are preparing a plan to de-stress the CRPF personnel and deploy new faces on the frontline. After the order, applications of jawans seeking postings out of Maoist-affected areas are being sorted out at the headquarter level. After the submission of applications by the jawans, they will be sent to the units concerned and other jawans will be deployed in their place.
The decision has been taken after Prasad conducted a meeting in New Raipur base camp in January during which jawans had told him about the available facilities in the Maoist-affected areas. After Prasad’s orders, jawans applications are directly being submitted in battalion headquarters. Until now complete unit used to be sent from one particular place to another place.
