Breaking his silence over the Dadri lynching incident, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav today said stern action will be taken in the matter “even if we have to sacrifice the government”, and claimed it was a “pre-planned” conspiracy hatched by “three persons of a specific party”.

“The Dadri incident was a pre-planned conspiracy...you will come to know the names. According to the information I have gathered, three persons related to a specific party are behind the incident,” Yadav told reporters here.

He said “a party delegation will be sent to Dadri after which it will become clear who these three persons were”.

“We will take stern action once the names are clear, whatever sacrifices the government has to make...even if we have to sacrifice our government, we will crush the communal forces," Yadav said.

He said it was a conspiracy “to oppress the people of a specific community. The SP will not allow this conspiracy to succeed”.

He also claimed that communal forces were hatching conspiracies against the SP government which, he said, was gaining popularity because its development works.

“I want to urge Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has given the slogan of ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas’ and is also an MP from Uttar Pradesh to think over it seriously,” he said.

Yadav said the three persons were also behind the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots.

“I talked to my party members and they said these three persons were also behind the riots in Muzaffarnagar. They succeeded in killing people, but failed to break communal harmony," he said.

The (Dadri) conspiracy was hatched to break the confidence of the people in SP. It was a serious incident. "It happened at a time when his son was protecting the country's border. It has to be taken seriously," he said.

Citing the "communal" challenges he faced as the chief minister of the state, he said that now his son Akhilesh Yadav was facing similar problems.

“I accepted those challenges. Now, he (Akhilesh) has to face challenges and I will give suggestions. I have a huge experience... now he will gain experience. Communal forces don't understand till they are crushed," he said.

He asked Akhilesh to take such incidents seriously and said he was ready to advise him.

Yadav also appealed to the media to write against forces inimical to peace so that "communal harmony remains intact in country".

The SP chief claimed that Uttar Pradesh was heading towards development and the state government has a "very good image". "We should not allow the conspiracy to malign UP's image to succeed," he said.

52-year-old Iqlakh was on September 28 lynched by a mob in Bishada village following rumours of cow slaughter and beef consumption. His younger son Danish, 22, who was critically wounded in the attack, is undergoing treatment at a Noida hospital.

Opposition parties had been questioning the silence of both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mulayam Singh Yadav on the incident. —PTI
