The full (three-member) Election Commission was at a seminar today to promote enlisting of service voters. The Army with its 13 lakh strength is the single biggest chunk among service voters. The EC requested the armed forces to include “voting education” in their training.

Service voter list will be updated every month, the commission officers said. Till today, 14.5 lakh service voters have applied to be listed. The ECI offers online listing for the service voters. The last date for applying is September 25, the ECI will publish the draft roll on October 4 and the final roll will be out on October 18. — TNS
