New Delhi: Former Lok Sabha Speaker PA Sangma, who had a chequered political career in which he constantly shifted allegiance in the past two decades, died on Friday following a heart attack. Sangma, 68, who was elected nine times to the Lok Sabha from Tura in Meghalaya and became the first Speaker from the North-East, breathed his last in the morning. Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan broke the news and adjourned the House for the day as a mark of respect. PTI
