Hapur tense after man’s lynching

LUCKNOW: Tension prevailed in Hapur over the killing of a 45-year-old man, Qasim, allegedly by a mob on Tuesday. His 55-year-old associate, Samaydin, was injured in the incident.

Tension prevailed in Hapur over the killing of a 45-year-old man, Qasim, allegedly by a mob on Tuesday. His 55-year-old associate, Samaydin, was injured in the incident.

DSP Pawan Kumar, who visited Bajhera Khurd village, denied reports of lynching over rumours of cow slaughter. He claimed that an altercation broke out between a village youth and the two men following a motorcycle accident.

The motorcyclist summoned villagers, who allegedly beat up the two, resulting in Qasim’s death and injury to Samaydin. The injured was admitted to a Hapur hospital.

Two suspects, Rakesh and Yudhister Sisodia, have been arrested under Sections 302 and 307 of the IPC.
