Jashodaben Modi, who claims to be legally married wife of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has once again filed an appeal before the Information Commissioner under the Right to Information Act in the state’s capital city of Gandhinagar to seek information on her security protocol and her entitlement as the prime minister’s wife, though estranged.

This is the third time she has filed the appeal after being denied information twice in the past one year. Her brother Ashok Modi, who spoke on her behalf, confirmed today about her filling the third appeal.

Jashodaben had first filed an application under the RTI Act in November last year with the Mehsana district police seeking details of the security provided to her. She filed another plea in January but against didn’t get satisfactory reply.

Denying her information on the security detail, the police had stated that the questions asked by her fell under the purview of the local Intelligence Bureau, which had been insulated from the RTI Act by the Gujarat Government. But Sandip Modi, Jashodaben's relative and lawyer, had claimed then that the reply given to her had failed to mention the name of her husband and addressed her as "Jashodaben, daughter of Chimanbhai Modi" which necessitated her to file the third appeal.
