The video had a record 42,000 views within the first few minutes of being posted.
The PM’s cabinet colleague Rajyavardhan Rathore was the first to take up Kohli’s fitness challenge followed by many other politicians and celebrities.
The images of ministers boasting of their fitness regimes invited sharp reactions from Congress leaders, including party president Rahul Gandhi, recently. He asked the government leaders to take up the challenges of jobs and economy first.
Modi further challenged Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, India’s table tennis star Manika Batra and all IPS officers, especially those above 40 years for the fitness test.
To this, Kumaraswamy tweeted, “I am honoured& thankU very much for d concern about my health I believe physical fitness is imptnt for all&support d cause. Yoga-treadmill r part of my daily workout regime. Yet, I am more concerned about devlpment fitness of my state&seek ur support for it.”
