New Delhi, June 17
A day after four chief ministers came in support on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over his ongoing stand off with Lt Governor Anil Baijal, several more political leaders came out in support of him.
DMK working president MK Stalin said in a tweet on Sunday: “I am concerned with the disdain shown by Lt. Gov. of Delhi towards an elected Chief Minister like @ArvindKejriwal. The BJP is proactively destroying the federal structure of this nation. I express my solidarity with the Chief Ministers who are standing up for States' rights”.
National Conference working president Omar Abdullah said in Kejriwal’s support: “Forget the arguments & counterarguments, a CM elected by the people of Delhi with an overwhelming majority is protesting in the Lt. Governor’s residence for the last 6 days & the powers that be couldn’t seem to care less. Democracy anyone?”
Leaders like Smajawadi Party chief’s Akhilesh Yadav, RJD’s Tejasvi Yadav, and CPI (M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury have already condemned “Centre’s interference” in Delhi’s affairs. AAP tweeted on Sunday to say Yechury will join Kejriwal’s march to PM’s office. Agencies
