The Mumbai police have asked online video hosting sites like Google and YouTube to pull out a video ‘roasting’ cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and singer Lata Mangeshkar after the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena filed a police complaint.

With other political parties like the Shiv Sena and the BJP also joining the MNS in criticising comedian Tanmay Bhat for ‘roasting’ the two popular figures, the police are likely to summon Bhat for questioning.

According to sources, senior police officials will decide on whether to summon the comedian for questioning.
MNS leader Ameya Khopkar, who heads the party’s film wing, said Bhat would not be allowed to do any shows in Mumbai. “We will beat up Tanmay wherever we see him. He will not be allowed to perform any shows in Mumbai,” Khopkar added.

Bhat, who is part of the All India Bakchod (AIB) show, had posted a video called ‘Sachin vs Lata Civil War’ a few days ago. Movie stars like Anupam Kher, Riteish Deshmukh and Celina Jaitley panned the video but it was shared online on social media over the weekend.

The video features Bhat playing the role of both Lata and Sachin “arguing” about who plays better cricket–Tendulkar or Virat Kohli.

He also cracked a few jokes on the two personalities.
