JD-U president and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today met Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi in the wake of grand alliance woes in the state.

The two are learnt to have discussed a range of political issues, including JD-U’s stand against corruption and Nitish’s personal take on the ongoing CBI investigations into alleged graft by RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s family members.

The JD-U chief has been asking Lalu’s son and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav to come clean and answer the charges the CBI has levelled against him.

The alliance stands on weak foundations as of today with visible dissonance between the RJD and JD-U chief on the matter.

Although there was no official word on what transpired in the Nitish-Rahul meeting, the Bihar CM is learnt to have pointed out his unambiguous stand on the alleged corruption by Lalu’s family.

Rahul had during UPA-II torn apart a copy of the ordinance in respect of conviction of lawmakers. The ordinance would have favoured Lalu.

The Congress has so far been officially supporting Lalu calling the CBI action political vendetta.
