No +2 result delay, clarity soon: CBSE

New Delhi, May 24

The Central Board of Secondary Education today said it would share the date of release of Class XII results with the students the moment it is finalised.

“The Board is still in the process of compilation of results. It never gave any date for Class XII results. The date will be shared as per our due process whenever the same is finalised. There is no delay on the part of the Board. We must not forget that the exams started on March 9 this year as against March 1 (because of elections in five states),” a CBSE source said.

Board sources said there would be clarity on Class XII results by tomorrow. Last year, the CBSE results of Class XII were declared on May 21 and Class X on May 28.

CBSE normally issues an official notification announcing the date of results. That is yet to come.

Student anxiety is meanwhile being triggered by the fact that Delhi University on May 22 announced its undergraduate admission schedule. The last date for online registration is June 12. — TNS

Grace marks another challenge

A practical challenge for CBSE this year has also come from a Delhi High Court judgment of Monday asking it to continue with the practice of grace marks for questions with high difficulty levels. The board had decided to scrap the moderation policy and may have to rework mark sheets.
