New Delhi, July 7
A team from India’s elite National Security Guard will travel to Bangladesh to study Thursday’s bombings at an Eid gathering in Kishoreganj and last week’s deadly siege at a cafe in Bangladesh to bolster the country’s security.
Officials said the team of National Security Guard (NSG) officers had been authorised by the government to travel to Dhaka after the Special Forces establishment in Bangladesh approved the formers' request to visit the spots of the terror attacks for a first-hand understanding of the situation.
The team, which includes NSG experts in post-blast analysis and counter-terror operations, will travel next week to study both attacks, sources said.
They said studying the attacks with Bangladesh’s investigative agencies will not only help enhance cooperation between the neighbours but would also help the Indian force understand the attacks and prevent it.
NSG has previously conducted such exercises in other countries in the past to study terrorist attacks.
