Raids in UP: 3 IAS officers under scanner

The Income Tax Department today carried out raids on the premises of three Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officers across six cities in Uttar Pradesh. 

Those under Income Tax Department lens for tax evasion include Director Health Hriday Shankar Tiwari, who was Baghpat district magistrate earlier. Eight warrants were issued against him in Meerut, Baghpat, Greater Noida, Lucknow and Delhi.

Raids were also conducted at Additional CEO Greater Noida Authority Vimal Kumar Sharma’s eight addresses in Meerut, Noida and Mainpuri. Her wife and Regional Transport Officer (RTO), Meerut, Mamta Sharma is also under the scanner.

Six premises of blue-eyed boy of former Samajwadi Party (SP) regime and now Special Secretary (Prison) Satyendra Kumar Singh were also raided in Lucknow and Noida. As the Vice-Chairperson of Lucknow Development Authority, Singh was responsible for many of former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s flagship projects.
