Patna, December 13

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has called a statewide bandh on December 21 to protest rampant corruption and the Bihar Government’s sand mine policy.

Leader of Opposition in the legislative Assembly and Lalu Prasad’s younger son Tejaswi Yadav said, “To protest the Nitish Kumar government’s sand mining policy and rampant corruption, the RJD has called the ‘Bihar Bandh’ on December 21. We earlier announced the strike on December 18, but the results of Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat Assembly polls coincided on this day, so we deferred it.”

RJD’s vice-president and former Union Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh sought the people’s support against the Nitish government. “For the public sake, the RJD has called a strike. The sand mining policy hit construction works in the state. Construction workers are migrating in search of jobs,” he said.

Questioning CM Nitish’s “Samiksha Yatra”, Tejaswi said, “What happened to his seven vows? Nothing has happened at the ground level,” said Tejaswi terming Nitish as “Jhasa Kumar”.

Meanwhile, CM Nitish today held a review meeting on development projects in East Champaran district headquartered at Motihari.
