Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat today said the RSS was committed to construct Ram temple in Ayodhya.

He said the temple could be constructed either by winning the legal battle or by passing a resolution in Parliament. The BJP has a majority and should fulfil its commitment to Ayodhya.

Bhagwat was addressing youths at Patanjali Yogpeeth on the conclusion the three-day Nav Shrijan Camp. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should opt for either of the two options to construct the temple.

He said the RSS would not pressure the Central government to abolish Article 370. On foreign direct investment, Bhagwat said: "Foreign investment cannot sustain India's economic growth. We have to be self dependent to become a superpower."

"The RSS has been working towards eradicating discrimination and casteism. We aim for overall development of the society," said the RSS chief.

On a query on RSS leaders in mainstream politics and many being inducted as ministers in the Modi government, Bhagwat said there was a marked difference between normal politicians and those having the RSS background. "RSS leaders who are in politics are much more organised, discipline and honest," he said.
