SC rejects plea against tax sop to parties

NEW DELHI:The SC today refused to entertain a PIL for withdrawing the 100% income tax exemption enjoyed by parties and a CBI probe into the surge in political funding following demonetisation.

New Delhi, January 11

The SC today refused to entertain a PIL for withdrawing the 100% income tax exemption enjoyed by parties and a CBI probe into the surge in political funding following demonetisation.

A Bench headed by Chief Justice JS Khehar said there was no merit in the plea by advocate-petitioner ML Sharma, who contended the two exemptions were responsible for political corruption and generation of black money. — TNS
