Mumbai, October 20
Following the intervention of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, the Fadnavis government in Maharashtra has announced that it will beef up security at theatres that are to screen Karan Johar’s “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” next week.
“We have increased security at multiplexes and are talking to the theatre owners’ association,” Mumbai Police Commissioner Datta Padsalgikar said today.
Rejecting Johar’s statement that he would not cast Pakistani actors in future, an adamant Maharashtra Navni-rman Sena had warned yesterday that it would not allow the film to be released in Mumbai and other cities until scenes of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan were deleted.

A delegation led by Film and Television Producers Guild of India president Mukesh Bhatt and Apoorva Mehta from Johar’s Dharma Productions met the Home Minister in Delhi today. “We sought an assurance that the film’s release on October 28 would be trouble-free. We were assured of all support,” Bhatt told the media.
Union Minister Babul Supriyo, who was part of the delegation, said: “The MNS is a party of goons. They should not be allowed to take law into their hands.”
