Seven dead, one injured in road accident in Telangana

Hyderabad, February 21

Seven people were killed and another one was injured in a road accident involving two cars in Wanaparthy district of Telangana on Wednesday, police said.

The accident took place in Kothakota mandal of the district around 8 am, they said.

"Seven people travelling in the cars died on the spot and another one sustained injuries," a police official supervising the rescue efforts told PTI over phone.

"One of the cars was proceeding from Hyderabad to Kurnool. It has apparently being driven at a high speed. The vehicle initially rammed into a road divider and landed on the other side of the road, where it was hit by another car," the official said.

According to police, the injured person has been rushed to a nearby hospital and further investigation is on. — PTI.
