Baghpat (UP) June 29

A teenage boy was shot dead in Asara village here with the family accusing six villagers of committing the crime, the police said on Thursday.

Shahid (17), who was home for Eid, was shot dead on Wednesday afternoon when he stepped out of his house to take a train back to Delhi, the police said.

The father of the deceased has lodged an FIR against six persons of the same village alleging that they had been threatening the family over old enmity, the police said.

The relatives of the deceased sat on a dharna demanding immediate arrest of the culprits and did not allow the police to take the body for post-mortem.

ASP Ajay Kumar pacified the family, following which they agreed for the post-mortem.

Four persons have been taken into custody for questioning and investigations are on, the ASP said.PTI
