Jaipur: An eight-year-old tigress, christened T-11, was found dead at the reserve area of the Ranthambore National Park in Sawai Madhopur district on Saturday. The carcass was traced after villagers informed park guards and sent to the veterinary hospital for postmortem. Rajasthan Forest and Mines Minister RK Rinwa said initial findings suggested that it was a natural death as there was no injury marks on the tigress. TNS
Centre hikes fee for NITs, IISERs
New Delhi: The Human Resource Development Ministry has hiked fee for the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs). The proposal to increase the annual fee at NITs from Rs 70,000 to Rs 1.25 lakh was approved this week. However, the increased charges will apply to new admissions only. The semester fee at the IISERs has been increased to Rs 25,000 from Rs 15,000. TNS
CAG gets honorary professorship in China
New Delhi: Comptroller and Auditor General of India Shashi Kant Sharma, who is touring China to attend a meeting of national auditors of BRICS nations, was granted honorary professorship by Nanjing Audit University, China, on Saturday. It is the only university which is recognised by the Institute of Internal Auditors. In his acceptance speech, Sharma put emphasis on “capacity building for auditors of the international fraternity in view of the ever-changing governance structure”, the CAG said in a statement. TNS
