New Delhi, August 24
The Justice AK Roopanwal (retd) Commission, which was constituted by the HRD Ministry to look into the circumstances leading to the death of Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula in Hyderabad Central University, is learnt to have submitted its report.
The Commission report, it was learnt, has, not blamed the senior university officials.
Sources said the one-member Commission had submitted its report to UGC officials, though there was no official confirmation.

Top officials in the HRD Ministry, when contacted, remained mum on the development.
Higher Education Secretary VS Oberoi refused to either confirm or deny that the report had been submitted. HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar, when contacted, said the report had not reached him yet.
The Roopanwal Commission had been formed by the HRD Ministry to look into the circumstances leading to the death of Vemula.
He had committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of a hostel room in the university.
The suicide by Vemula had triggered a huge political storm with opposition parties launching a massive attack on the Union Government over the issue. They also accused the University authorities of mishandling the situation, which led to Vemula’s suicide. PTI
