Voting for two Assembly byelections in Maharashtra has been peaceful though there were allegations of impersonation and attempts to influence voters at both the seats.
According to state police sources, voting for the Bandra East and Tasgaon-Kavthe Mahankal Assembly seats began on a peaceful note at 7 am though the turnout was tepid through most of the day.
While Congress leader Narayan Rane is in the fray from the Bandra East seat in Mumbai, Suman Patil, widow of former Maharashtra Home Minister RR Patil, is fighting to retain her husband’s seat on the NCP ticket.
