Ludhiana, January 9

A former member of the Working Committee of the SAD, Pritam Singh Bharowal, today joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) along with his supporters in the presence AAP leader HS Phoolka.

Bharowal said he had offered his services as a dedicated soldier of the SAD since 1977.  He accused Badal of encouraging  lawlessness and forming cable and sand mafia, which prompted him to leave the party.

Bharowal remained in news after he was booked in an abetment-of-suicide case.

National general secretary of the Youth Akali Dal (YAD) Santokh Singh Sukhana allegedly committed suicide in a hotel room near Kotwali.  In a suicide note, he had accused Bharowal and other leaders of driving him to suicide.

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party candidate for Ludhiana-West Ahbaab Singh Grewal and Lok Insaaf Party leader Simarjeet Singh Bains held a meeting today. Both leaders, along with their volunteers, chalked out a strategy for their election campaign.
