The Congress candidate from the Moga Assembly seat, Dr Harjot Kamal, today began door-to-door canvassing to woo traders and businessmen. He went to hundreds of shops/business establishments and also held a couple of nukkar sabhas.
“I am doing this to know about the problems being faced by the local traders and businessmen. Most of them told me that they were fed up with the SAD-BJP government due to its flawed policies,” he said.
While interacting with the traders, he claimed that the Congress was the only party that could protect the rights of the business community and give a cordial atmosphere for the growth of their business.
A doctor and an educationist, he is contesting the polls for the first time. He is pitted against Akali stalwart Jathedar Tota Singh’s son Barjinder Brar and AAP candidate Ramesh Grover, who are also fighting the Assembly elections for the first time.
Dr Harjot Kamal’s nomination was declared late last week.
