Inspired by Kejriwal, Sood wants to eradicate corruption

It was the demonetisation move of the Modi government that prompted Vipan Kaka Sood to resign from his plum post in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and jump into the poll fray on AAP-LIP ticket.  

Kaka Sood is the AAP-LIP candidate from the Ludhiana- Central constituency. While carrying out his door-to-door campaigning, Kaka accused the BJP of ruining the business in the city by imposing the note ban. 

"Black money is stacked in the Swiss bank accounts, not in the house of a common man. It is the poor who have been the worst sufferers due to demonetisation. The move came as a jolt for the Ludhiana industry, especially the small businessmen. Many industries have already shut down and some are on the verge of closure. Several migrants have been rendered jobless and have to return to their native places. Need of the hour is a stable government which should look after the interest of small businessmen and eradicate corruption among the government employees," said Kaka.

An under-matric who starts canvassing around 7.00 am has over 20,000 followers on Facebook. Kaka Sood, former convener of the Real Estate and Property Cell of the state unit of the BJP, enjoys a considerable support in Field Gunj and surrounding areas.

Taking a dig at his rival Congress MLA Surinder Dawar, Sood said Dawar never bothered to look after the need of the constituency after winning the elections. Basic facilities are eluding from the constituency, but Dawar never had the time to resolve the issues. 

Sood said he drew his inspiration from LIP supremo Simarjit Bains and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal, who stood against the prevailing corrupt political system.

Vipan Kaka Sood is AAP's Hindu face through his ally Lok Insaaf Party. The party was lacking a Hindu face as all its leaders were either from the Jat community or Dalits. With the inclusion of Sood, the party has a tool to woo Hindu voters.
