Chandigarh, January 21
AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today requested the Election Commission (EC) to withdraw his security during his visits to Punjab.
In a letter to VK Singh, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Kejriwal said, “I have noticed that during my tours to the state, a large number of police personnel is deployed for my security which, in my view, is not required.”
Kejriwal told the CEO that all AAP candidates had already sought the withdrawal of their security. He stated that given the “poor” law and order situation in Punjab, all security apparatus should be deployed for the security of the people. — TNS
