Results to coincide with Capt’s birthday

Muktsar: The Punjab poll result date of March 11 has coincided with the birthday of PPCC chief Capt Amarinder Singh, who will turn 75 that day. Amarinder has already announced that it would be his last election. If he wins, he would have a double reason to cheer. TNS

Always favoured early poll: Jakhar

Chandigarh: PPCC spokesperson Sunil Jakhar said his party was in favour of early elections and had been demanding poll schedule announcement for the past several weeks in view of the continuing misuse of official authority by the Akali government. He said political appointments were being made by the government on daily basis, evidently in a bid to hide its own failures and woo the electorate. tns
