Faridkot: It’s a reunion of sorts for Mohammad Sadique and Ranjeet Kaur, two Punjabi singers who used to perform together. Ranjeet is among the star campaigners for Sadique, who is contesting from Jaito on the Congress ticket. “Ranjeet flew from London on January 3 and will stay here till the election day,” says Suraj Bhardwaj, son-in-law of Bhadaur MLA Sadique. “If you elect Sadiqueji as MLA, I promise that we will organise a show in Jaito and sing duets again,” Ranjeet said at a meeting. — Balwant Garg

Notice to AAP over ‘religious’ calendar 

Hoshiarpur: The DDPO-cum-returning officer of Sham Churasi, Dinesh Kumar Vashisht, issued a notice for poll code violation to Dr Ravjot Singh, AAP candidate, on Wednesday. Patiala: Former minister Hamir Singh Ghagga, who had joined the SAD in 2005, on Wednesday returned to the Congress. He was expelled from the Congress in 2002 by Capt Amarinder Singh on disciplinary grounds prior to the Assembly elections.  tns
