Son backbone of Dhillon’s campaigning

Simran Singh Dhillon, younger son of SAD leader Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, has taken upon him the responsibility of ensuring his father’s victory on the Sahnewal seat. He tells voters in the constituency: “Kaam nu hi vote paayo (vote for the works done)”.

In a brief interview with this reporter, Simran said: “Papa cannot be everywhere, so I make sure there is no vacuum left by his absence. The personal touch matters and sincere interaction with voters is very important. The more you are attached to people, the more they trust you. As far as development work is concerned, I try to be present wherever work is carried out.”

The focus of Simran is “micro-management”. “We cannot afford to be wrong in any field. Campaigning will intensify in the days to come, but as far as I am concerned, I will always be there for people in my father’s constituency”.

“As my father remains preoccupied with his hectic campaigning schedule, I make sure that I attend all social gatherings in the constituency,” he added. Simran also looks after formation of election committees.

When asked how did he help his father whenever he was in low spirits, Simran said: “Touch wood! My father is always very positive and strong. He has a strong drive to move on and do good to people. We are confident that the public will give verdict in our favour because of work done by us in the constituency at the grass-roots level.”
