Patiala, January 12
While senior SAD and Congress leaders are yet to hit the ground and hold rallies in support of their candidates, AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal today descended on Patiala and held six rallies in three Assembly segments.
Taking a dig at the Akalis, Kejriwal alleged they had made Punjab bankrupt and the recent incidents of outbursts against them were a proof enough of their fate. “We will teach them such a lesson that they will not know where to hide,” he said.
The AAP chief said it was amusing that both Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh and his SAD counterpart Sukhbir Badal were challenging him to compete in Punjab elections. “Why don’t they contest against each other?” he asked.
Hitting out at the Patiala royal scion, he claimed AAP would “sweep” elections in the Punjab Congress president’s home district, “putting an end to his political career”.
Managing an impressive show at most of the rallies, Kejriwal alleged though the royal couple of Capt Amarinder and Preneet Kaur had enjoyed power for years, “they had earned wealth only for themselves and done nothing for Punjab”.
