Bikram Singh Majithia has said he will play the role of an active Opposition in the Vidhan Sabha.
He stated this after paying obeisance at the Golden Temple after winning the Majitha Assembly segment for the third consecutive term.
He claimed that the SAD-BJP alliance received 30 per cent share of votes in the election signifying its importance in the state politics. He said they would play the role of a responsible Opposition in the Assembly.
Majithia congratulated Capt Amarinder Singh over his landslide victory and hoped that the Congress would fulfil all its poll promises, including employment to each member of a family, waiver of farmer loans, housing for all, smart phones to youth and others.
He said his victory demolished the charges of leaders like AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal that he was running a drug mafia and ‘gunda raj’.
Thanking the electorates for reposing trust in him, Majithia said Kejriwal carried out maximum road shows and rallies in Majitha and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi also visited the constituency, yet they could not shake the faith of people in him.
