Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee condemned the ongoing controversy over Sanjay Leela Bhansali's historical drama "Padmavati", labelling it as "unfortunate" and a "calculated plan" to destroy freedom of expression.
Protests are being held across the country ever since the promos of the film were out demanding a complete ban on the film, which they alleged the filmmaker made with distorted facts.
Many groups have been opposing the film fearing the movie would depict a romantic relationship between Rani Padmavati (Deepika Padukone) and Allaudin Khilji (Ranveer Singh. Agencies
