The Sikh organisations involved in organising “Sarbat Khalsa” at Talwandi Sabo have decided to hold their congregation on December 8, “come what may”.
Gurdeep Singh Bathinda, secretary, United Akali Dal, said the Punjab and Haryana High Court would deliver the decision in this regard on December 6.
Responding to a query, he said, in case the court declined permission to the congregation, they would approach the Supreme Court.
He accused the government of creating roadblocks and preventing them from organising the Sikh religious meet earlier.
He said this time they moved the court anticipating high handedness of the Akali-BJP government in stopping them.
He claimed that “Sarbat Khalsa” would be organised as per the announced schedule. The Sikh leader said in case of government action, they would give a befitting reply. The Sikh sangat would squat on roads across the state to protest the government action, he added.
Earlier, “Sarbat Khalsa” was to be held on November 10, but the government refused to give permission and detained several Sikh leaders.
