A day before the "bhog" of Bhupinder Singh, who was shot dead during an attack on Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale on May 17, the police today beefed up security at Khasi Kalan village. A large number of supporters of Dhadrianwale, activists of Sikh organisations and hardliners are expected to reach the village tomorrow.

Jatinder Singh Aulakh, Ludhiana Police Commissioner, said: "We have made security arrangements to ensure a peaceful programme. A large number of police personnel and senior police officers have been deputed."

Meanwhile, after expressing dissatisfaction over the police investigation, Dhadrianwale has stated that he will announce the next line of action tomorrow at the function. He had earlier alleged that the government was protecting the key conspirator.

Any announcement by Dhadrianwale to launch an agitation can add to the woes of the alliance government.

Intelligence agencies are reportedly working overtime as Sikh hardliners, including Dhian Singh Mand, are expected to attend the tomorrow's event. Baba Ram Singh, a faction of the Damdami Taksal, also supported Dhadrianwale recently. No senior leader of the Akali Dal has so far confirmed his participation.

A large pandal is being erected in the fields to accommodate visitors at Khasi Kalan.
