In a major reshuffle in the Police Department, the Punjab Government today transferred 13 IPS and seven PPS officers.
A file to this effect was cleared by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal this morning, an official spokesperson said. While Charanjit Singh would be the new Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Faridkot, Snehdeep Sharma would hold the same charge in SBS Nagar.
Harjinder Singh has been shifted as DCP (Deputy Commissioner of Police), Amritsar, while Bikram Pal Singh Bhatti goes as DCP, Jalandhar. The DIGs (Deputy Inspector Generals) of Ferozepur, Bathinda and Patiala, too, have been transferred. Amar Singh Chahal replaces Mohnish Chawla as DIG, Ferozepur range, while Shive Kumar Verma replaces Chahal as DIG, Bathinda range. Balkar Singh Sidhu has replaced Verma as DIG, Patiala range.
Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, DIG, Jalandhar range, has been given the additional charge of DIG, Counter-Intelligence.
CSR Reddy would be the new Additional Director General of Police (Information Technology), Jasminder Singh ADGP (Traffic), RP Singh ADGP (Welfare), Balbir Kumar Bawa IG (Security) and SK Singh IG (Human Rights).
Among the PPS officers, Sukhdev Singh Kahlon, SSP, Faridkot, goes as AIG (Intelligence) and Narinder Bhargava, SSP (Jalandhar- Rural) has been transferred as Commandant, IRB, Ludhiana.
