4 dead in bus-car collision in Barnala

SANGRUR: Four persons were killed and one seriously injured when an Orbit bus collided with a car near Ghunas village in Barnala district on Saturday.

Four persons were killed and one seriously injured when an Orbit bus collided with a car near Ghunas village in Barnala district on Saturday.

Two numberdars, one panch and a former panch were among the dead.

They were going to Rampura to attend a bhog ceremony at the residence of Rajvir Singh, Patwari, of their village. The injured has been admitted to a private hospital in Barnala.

The Orbit bus driver and conductor fled the spot. SSP Susheel Kumar said the bus has been impounded and raids were on to arrest them.
